Arman Khaki is a junior associate at Dallas Criminal Defence.

Arman graduated with High Distinction from the University of Toronto at Scarborough in 2019, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, Political Science, and Public Law. His undergraduate education led to his fascination with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and his corresponding decision to attend law school.

Arman graduated from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law in 2022, where he focused on Criminal Law, Charter Litigation, and Youth Criminal Justice. In his last year of law school, Arman completed an internship where he advocated for tenants in landlord-tenant disputes.

Arman articled under the supervision of I. Loui Dallas, the founder and principal of Dallas Criminal Defence. He has remained at the firm since being called to the bar in June of 2023. During his time at the firm, Arman has helped defend on several complex criminal cases including robbery, break and enter, firearm charges, and drug trafficking.

Arman is passionate about youth criminal justice. Whether it is negotiating with a Crown, making arguments before a Judge, or defending his clients at trial, Arman makes it a priority to ensure young people are treated fairly at all stages in the criminal justice system.

Noteworthy Results

 

2024

R. v. C.B. – Client charged with assaulting her former partner. After rigorous negotiation, she signs a peace bond and all charges are withdrawn on the day of trial.

R. v. J.W.W. – Client charged with numerous offences, including possession of a firearm, after the police locate one in his vehicle. After three days of trial, the client was acquitted of all firearm charges.

R. v. M.W. – Client charged with institutional assault of a peace officer. Charges withdrawn at the beginning of trial.

R. v. A.G. – Client charged with institutional assault. After convincing negotiation, he signs a peace bond and all charges are withdrawn on the day of trial.

R. v. H.J. – Client charged with 17 offences (including using a firearm, residential break and enter, and robbery. After relentless negotiation, he signs a peace bond and all charges are withdrawn before trial.

R. v. E.D. – Client charged with 7 offences in Toronto and Brampton (including break and enter, assault peace officer, and numerous breaches of court orders). After thoughtful negotiation, with particular attention to the client’s mental health issues, all charges are withdrawn before trial.

R. v. H.K. – Client charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. All charges are withdrawn before trial.

R. v. J.A. – Client charged with numerous uttering threats. After thorough negotiation, with particular attention to the client’s mental health issues, he signs a peace bond and all charges are withdrawn before trial.

R. v. J.S. – Client charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. After pointing out the weaknesses of the case before the Crown and Judge, all charges are withdrawn before trial.
