Micaele Zaffina was born in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to downtown Toronto at the age of four. Growing up in the heart of Toronto, Micaele developed a nuanced understanding of how socio-economic factors impact individuals’ lives.

With a strong passion for rugby, Micaele played semi-professionally in England and France and remains actively involved in community development through volunteering with the Toronto Inner-City Rugby Foundation, helping young athletes access the same opportunities he enjoyed.

He earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. Upon returning to Canada, Micaele successfully completed his National Committee on Accreditation exams and bar examinations. Micaele gained valuable experience during his articling at Yeghoyan Law Office, a respected criminal law firm in Oshawa.

Micaele is passionate about criminal defence law. Advocating for and protecting individuals’ rights are his strengths.
